It is like monitoring the complaint department for customer satisfaction feedback. So it would be normal to see much more negative comments here. People with technical problems or encountering bugs are the ones that tend to post on these user forums. That is fine if that is what you are looking for but I prefer a flatter response on my input chain so I can apply the desired EQ for my mixes.Īs for the posts you see here on this forum, keep in mind that people that are having a wonderful time with Protools are busy making music and mixing songs. The Onyx mic press tend to be a little hyped (boosted in the lows and highs) like the typical loudness contour on most home and auto stereos. I'm not a big fan of Mackie's Onyx mic pres as I prefer a more neutral sound from my mic pres. Keep in mind that the Blackbird is firewire based while the Blackjack is USB based. I've heard of the Mackie Blackbird however and it does work with Protools with the latest drivers, therefore it would reason that the Blackjack should work as well. I did not respond earlier because I don't have a Mackie Blackjack.
